Sacramento Valley/Delta Fish Screen Program

Year 3 Projects - Installed Fall 2012

Alamo Farms #1
Alamo Farms fish screen track facing upstream.
Alamo Farms 36 cfs fish screen installed in November 2012.
Alamo Farms farming operation encompasses over 850 acres of row crops, rice, wheat, etc.
Alamo Farms is now a fish friendly agricultural operation.

 

Joseph Sanchez Farms - Steamboat Slough - Grand Island
ISI setting the track by crane. This is the first screen to be installed in the legal Delta under the FWA fish screen program.
The Sanchez diversion is a siphon located on Steamboat Slough. This ISI screen is propellor driven to operated the external and internal cleaning brushes.

Year 2 Projects - Installed Fall 2011/12

Sutter Mutual Water Company Portuguese Bend Pumping Plant
The ISI screen delivered to the site on flat bed truck. Lifiting the large cylindrical screen from the truck by crane.
The cylinder lowered slowly onto the track system. The screen is installed onto the track system for easy removal during routine maintenance and high river flows.

Project No. Y02-01 - Currently 106 cfs

Located on the Sacramento River, east side, Sutter County California

 

Windswept Land & Livestock Company #3 North Diversion
In-water work at the smaller fish screen projects usually is less than two days. Windswept #3 is the smallest fish screen installed under the Phase 7 program.
This samll 9 cfs diversion is located on the east side of the Sacramento River in Sutter County. The Windswept diversion irrigates walnut orchards.

Project No. Y02-04 - Currently 9 cfs
Oji Bros. Farms, Inc. Kirkville Diversion
The Oji Kirkville diversion shown with the screen installed on the track system. The Oji diversion is currently screened to 28 cfs.
The Oji project was completed in early 2012 and will be utilized by the landonwer during the 2012 irrigation season.
